My Campoli Eloquence set arrived yesterday and initial listening checks are very positive, in all cases the transfers are as good or better than any others I have and generally the violin tone is excellent with only a few, like the Dohnányi Ruralia Hungarica, still very harsh.
They seem to have reissued most things since 1950, the things that have been on LP but a lot of the lovely encores (78s) with Eric Gritton from the 1940s and early 50s are still missing, we only got the contents of the three 10" releases plus the Kreisler which was already available. And of course, there was none of the light music from the 1930s.
In summary, most things had been available before but these transfers are better. It would be great to think that there's more to come and the rarer things too.
