    The Oramo disc of 1 and 3 would probably be the one I’d save in a house fire.
    Hurwitz generally prefers older recordings, probably the ones he learnt the music from.

      If one must cite a critic's opinion, far better to discuss the favourite Nielsen recordings of Robert Layton or David Fanning.

          Would someone who knows more about Nielsen than I do like to watch the 85-year-old Stokowski conduct No. 2 for the first and only time in his life in Copenhagen and let us know what they think. I only ask because the Danish critics went overboard for his performance. However, when he'd conducted No. 6 in London two years earlier with the NPO, he admitted he didn't understand it. Curiously, criric Colin Anderson gave Stokowski's Nielsen 6th full marks, so you can never tell! ...
