    It is indeed! Don't hesitate to aquire it!

    Do make sure the Kondrashin has that picture on it though - Amazon say "2000" but it should be 2005..., earlier reissues weren't nearly as good.

    Incidentally, most of the more recent Melodiya reissues e.g. Rozh. Prokofiev & Sibelius Symphonies, always credit "M.Pilipov" as remastering engineer. Seems a sure guide to quality.

      There are some used copies of the Ashkenazy on Amazon uk , but all too common poor cataloging makes it hard to find :-



      Incidently, on an entirely different recording - Hillborg Eleven Gates etc on BIS which you mentioned a while back - I listened to this for the first time tonight ......not usually my thing...... but Wow ! Will be listening again tomorrow, so thanks for that as well.
