I think HS mentioned in the past the BSO and Silvestri also recorded a terrific account of Scheherazade - more exciting if less subtle than Beecham or Monteux .

It's on Spotify if you want to listen - well worth it.

Silvestri's recording more 'stereo' than the equally lovely Beecham recording but both are masterclasses in how to realise Rimsky's fantastic ear for orchestral colour especially in the The Young Prince and Princess where both of these great masters judge the balances to perfection - Rimsky's harp writing allowed to glitter through the strings at the key moments, not a gift shared by all conductors eg Nelsons' performance a couple of years back with the Concertgebouw, plenty of loud vivid colour but imv less well balanced elsewhere. Conductors of Beecham and Silvestri's quality are rare.
