    Consequent to this thread, I've been listening with great pleasure to the SQ recording by the Fidelio Quartet from 1970. Clarence Myerscough taught my violist daughter, who played a viola by Clarence's brother Henry, both members of the Fidelio. C/W Tippett 2 on an ancient Pye LP.

      I love that Beecham set on EMI. It would take some beating, maybe Barbirolli, perhaps? Hmmmm.
