I'd sooner they saved their money so that they did not charge postage on purchases under £10 - an amazing number seem to be listed at £9.99!

Not a card, but a personalised letter for me!

I, also, would sooner they saved their money, as I plan to do with mine.

Something I ordered from Amazon was despatched on Wednesday and is being delivered by someone called PayPal Logistics. Estimated delivery date is between last Thursday and the 11th of December!!! Needless to say it hasn't arrived yet. Royal Mail was so much more convenient - for me, obviously not for Amazon.

Since PayPal works on email addresses, perhaps your item will come as an attachment?

I knew - perhaps I should have said 'problems'.

In another thread Cali linked to a book about middle class problems that aren't real problems - I think getting one's Amazon order a few days or hours quicker fits into that category.

Yes, I had one of these in yesterday's post. Must be a sign of desperation if they have to resort to this.

I now use Collect+ at our local Co-op for parcel deliveries. So much easier.

Another slightly OT query, but Amazon related. As far as I can see, the European Amazon sites can all use the same username and password as the UK one. Is this also true for the US (and perhaps also the .ca one)? It's a while since I used the US site. I don't want to initiate a password reset on the US site if it changes things for the European sites if I can avoid that.

It is just possible that I'm using a different user name on the US site, but it looks the pretty much the same. Maybe I did change the password, but am still remembering the previous one.

Yes, I have the same log in for the US as for Europe.

I do hate it when Amazon go back to using Royal Mail. Despite our instructions, it's back to the depot every time, twice in two days now. I call it "red card day"...

I'm very fortunate regarding the regular Royal Mail post deliverer here. Despite the official rules he is happy to leave packages too large for the letter box in a not particularly safe, but agreed, location. Also, when my next door neighbour absentmindedly left her keys on her front door when she went out recently, he removed them, came back to my house, knocked on the door and left them with me for safekeeping. However, that's him, not Royal Mail.

Me too Jayne. Their use of Amazon Logistics (basically a catch-all name for local couriers in white vans, as far as I can see) is a huge improvement on Royal Mail (Prime Delivery was rarely the next day, and their rate of losses was high with me) and the dreaded Yodel who were completely and utterly inept.

Amazon Logistics are friendly, deliver when they say they will, use common sense (leave it with next door, for instance) and even 'phone you if they can't quite find the address (or door, I have three and only one has the working letterbox!). AND they deliver on Sundays too, right up to teatime! Well done Amazon Logistics, say I!

Another vote here for Royal Mail. No problems (so far) with missing packages. If we are not in, the postie leaves a note (a postie note?) and we collect it from the nearest depot (only about 2 miles away). I can see that it would be more inconvenient if the depot were less accessible.
