George Szell and the Cleveland Orchestra

I am very grateful to whoever it was the recommended the Cleveland/Szell Kije it is coupled with an account of Pictures at an a Exhibition to make your hair stand on end !

I recently purchased that recording of Pictures, coupled with Borodin music. I remember disliking it as a teenager when I had the lp that coupled it with Richter's famous recording from a Bulgarian Tuberculosis Sanitorium. I now agree with Barbs, it's a stunner.

Szell's Don Quixote is a real favourite of mine, the first version I got and it still hits the spot every time.
