    After a shaky start I rather enjoyed the Stravinsky though she brings out romance that he might not have intended . On that disc the Bartok Second Sonata is stupendous !

            Well, it's an interesting performance! I appreciate that it wasn't such a repertoire staple that it is now and some of the orchestral playing is a bit shaky. It sounds, imho, as if she and the conductor were not quite in accord with their 'vision' of the work. In fact, it sounds to me as if she's trying to lose the conductor in the last movement!

            I do feel that Ms. Haendel hasn't really practiced it with a metronome and is quite free in her rhythmic style. (He said, trying to be diplomatic instead of just saying it sounds like a shambles!)

            A performance to hear ONCE but no more, imho.
