Don't forget Wand's set of Bruckner symphonies on DVD - at least, numbers 4 to 9. He did not live to set down 1 to 3. I have got 4 to 8 and they are uniformly impressive even with a church resonance (which some might say suits anyway). I shall be buying 9 very soon.

The original edition wasn't much beter: there the Eighth was split over 2 CDs, and no.9 got its own dedicated CD.
In terms of playing no.8 just as inconvenient as the present release.

I'm intrigued by this Wand bargain set, having been looking for a good intégrale for a while at a low price. I wanted the Naxos Tintner set originally, but the box seems to have disappeared from the Naxos catalogue - is that due for re-issue, do we think? And if I had the choice of the two, who would be the better bet? Will the Wand set give me No. "0" as well?

MickyD, the Wand set includes only symphonies 1 to 9. At the current price it is a bargain, despite the lack of booklet notes. I collected the Tintner discs as they were issued and think it is a very worthy traversal. If the boxed set is no longer available it will be interesting to see at what price it is re-issued. In the meantime, the Wand set is well worth having.
