My 'most recent' Beethoven was two complete Symphony cycles for my recent birthday: Kubelik's with 9 different orchestras contained in the Kubelik Symphonies box and Bernstein with the NYPO. Just got the 8th and 9th to go in the Kubelik, haven't got round to Lenny yet.

I think it was the Sony Tokyo Quartet box:

Difficult to keep track. I have the Decca Curzon boxes (the 4 volumes, not the single box) on order. They have several Beethoven works in them, but they have not arrived yet.

                    String Trios.

                    Zurich String Trio.

but it really ought to be the Quartetto Italiano complete SQs, given their current price.

                        Christopher Hogwood, AAM, complete symphonies.
Emerson Quartet, complete string quartets (got by on the Italians, prior).
JEG, Missa Solemnis (I believed that the Hanover band was all I needed, for years)
