      He did not mention the balance at all and I don't think that charge can be made out against these two recordings - unlike some of his later recordings from the 1980s.

        The Beethoven I find unlistenable for that reason. That is the problem for me with recordings which the soloist insists reflects what he/she hears.

          That charge can be placed at the recording with Barenboim but not at this one IMO.
