I've been reading a recently published book about the early life of Jascha Heifetz and have come to a reference of him recording short works for Julius Block's Edison phonograph. I remember there was a furore when Ward Marston released a 3 disc set of these unique documents. I seem to remember that very few sets were produced since they were seen as bring of such specialist interest that very few people would be interested. (This including the voice of Tchaikovsky!)
I tried to order a set but, predictably, they sold out within days of being released. Does anyone know if there are any plans to re-issue this set?
Many thanks.
PG.
