    rather a trivial consideration but one small thing I love about the suite, missing from the complete, is going from the last chord (or last two chords) of Beauty & the Beast to the first chord of the Fairy Garden - such a blissful moment IMHO

        Monteux's recording of Mother Goose is magically beautiful, somehow he just gets inside the music like no one else but I expect others will disagree. In particular the solo violin playing is phrased to perfection - Hugh Maguire? - and the LSO is right at the top of their considerable game.
