    The Abduction OF the Seraglio??

Unless I'm needing a hearing aid, more than once this morning the estimable Mr Cowan so styled the Mozart operatic overture featured early in Essential Classics.

Do we suppose that Belmonte is more virile, less monogamous than most productions have hitherto led us to believe?

Rest assured that you are not in need of a hearing aid - so...whodunnit? Who nicked the harem?

Thanks for confirming N. It has to be Belmonte surely, presumably with Pedrillo's help.

There is perhaps a need to establish whether he nicked the building, its female human contents (he'd leave male guards -whether or not eunuchs, wouldn't he? Wouldn't he??), or both
