It doesn't appear to be on LA - JJ's back announcement was given, followed by AMcG's trail for the Proms. How do they do that?
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

            Flogged to death

Rather over-doing the national anthem this morning; one is interesting, two amusing, three - hmmm, after that it's oh god, not that tune again.

Makes you wonder how The Queen must feel after a lifetime of listen to that @€#%* tune!

The difference is she gets paid to listen to it.

At least she doesn'y have to hear it several times in an hour!

I have always imagined that she hums it to herself as she watches the serfs do the housework.

Thumps up for neglected Russian symphonies on Sunday mornings.

We had Myaskovsky 15 last week, today it was Taneyev 2,marvelous stuff.
I have the Naxos Taneyev symphonies, recommended.

Just listened again to the perf on baroque lute of BWV998 by Lutz Kirchhof (approx 49 minutes in), to see if it was really as bad as I thought. A new name to me, so full of buzzes and mis-hits it's a wonder it was committed to disc in the first place. Would have sounded OK for amateur on You Tube. Why not Jakob Lindberg, Rob? or Nigel North? (for a lute version that is, there are countless on guitar, starting with 2 by Bream).
