    Advance Breakfast Playlists

At long last, it appears that advance (provisional) playlists for Breakfast are being published. So far they are available for Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Presumably the rest will follow ....

Do I detect some more adventurous content in these lists?

Not really. Weekend Breakfast is normally a little bit more adventurous anyway. Monday's looks mainly pretty standard Breakfast fare I'm afraid. It is good that the some of the playlists are being published in advance. I find 1 in every 25 or so programmes of some interest so it will at least give me the opportunity to tune in to the odd worthwhile programme.

Casting my mind back, I'd say that the lists used to appear about three days in advance. These lists are also, once more, showing approximate timings for the broadcasts rather than the post-broadcast timings in the iPlayer.

Let's hope it lasts. Meanwhile, whoever thinks there is no point in making our points here persistently is just plain wrong. Whoever thinks that, now these boards have been cast adrift by the BBC, the BBC doesn't look at them is also wrong. It's always worth putting forward our concerns because we won't be the only source that they consult. And we won't always be 'wrong' on everything.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Although Tuesday's playlist isn't up yet, there is a note:

"NB This playlist is subject to change during transmission. The final playlist will be put up by noon on the day of broadcast."

I've only just found this! Is someone out there listening to us after all? Let's hope it lasts and expands to full details for, say the first two hours of breakfast, rucksack finds could perhaps come later.

Still has the "Classical Chart" And why does Bach always have to appear in arrangements?

Remains to be seen how many additional pieces are slipped in. Tuesday and Wednesday only list 16 pieces, whereas the usual has been about 23 - 27.

Monday's has 20 pieces which means either longer pieces or more musical discussion between the works .

Great.I found Howells' 'Take him earth for cherishing' on Tues and Victoria de los Angeles singing Falla on Wedn that I am sure I would have missed. Timings approximate though

well, we're getting the Mendelssohn Wedding March now (7:55) and the Handel/Kirkby was from Rodelinda at 7.30 so I shall continue not to worry/bother about playlists

beg pardon, we've just had a bit of Handel Giulio Cesare, though not as advertised

And I see the original playlist of 16 pieces has been expanded to 25 ...

By the way, was there a Specialist Chart feature this morning?
