I’ve always thought of Sean Rafferty as a bit of a sweetie wife and yes he can make me cringe. However, we spoke to him after a play at the Edinburgh Festival and he was such a lovely guy!

I think many of these presenters are acting (many of them are , or were , actors) on air, and that may explain why Sean sounds different in 'real life'.It was the same with Ann Robinson , who made a successful career as a merciless, sardonic schoolmarm: it was an act. She wasn't (isn't) like that in reality. People often don't grasp this. They saw Bill Hartnell in interview and expected him to talk like Doctor Who.

i've heard her this week on Night Tracks - having overcome my prejudice about their bedtime voices (and I think they've changed that) - she has a great broadcasting voice. Maybe I'll give In Tune a try tonight.

Good standard the last few evenings, lots of live music.

Some lovely live music right now, really those middle eastern wars should be replaced with nice parks and live musical recitals. If ever western civilisation needed a champion i am sure "in tune" could help, perhaps the world service should re broadcast "in tune" ?

Great edition so far again, in tune matches my schedule of when i am preparing dinner so my most regular expose to radio 3, putting son to bed again tonight so will probably miss the evening concert.

I'm afraid the trailers for 'In Tune' have discouraged me from wanting to listen to it, though I enjoyed some of its predecessors, such as 'Homeward Bound', 'The Week Ahead' (with John Amis) and 'The Works' with David Owen Norris.
