Some nice live music this evening, i often listen to in tune around dinner time as either cooking, cleaning up or post cleaning up.
Annoyingly listening to and commenting on radio 3...

      Anyway: too much/many Wittering(s)!
Agreed - a programme to be avoided because of Sean Rafferty and Katie Derham .

One oerson's wittering(s) is others' repeatedly girning about it/them.

Both sides allowed to have their say!
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

How do you know they are girning - isn't that pulling faces?

I always had a downer on Mr. Rafferty until we sat next to him at a play in Edinburgh and found him to be an extremely nice chap! Ever since then, I’ve been more forgiving of his conversational style.

I had no issue with him as a person and didn't doubt that he had many good qualities, but what made me give up was his excruciating interviewing.Long rambling sentences containing multiple questions were challenging enough for those with English as their first language, but combined with his accent they just floored the often young foreign performers he talked at in the studio and I found it all just too uncomfortable to listen to.

On the contrary I think he is an excellent interviewer and in my view has done a very good job in the sensitive task of challenging BBC managers on air over the cuts. He also has a wonderfully mellifluous Irish accent. He is also very good at ever so subtly taking the mickey out of people.

I remembered we had discussion re Sean R once before and to save thinking up some new comment I'm just adding a link to my previous pronouncement on the subject:

It goes well with cooking and cleaning away after, not too much concentration required so it is the timing of the program that means i bump into it regularly.

... for those seeking a reason why Radio 3 should exist, perhaps it should be - a channel where much concentration is required

Perhaps you should have concluded with the word "exist", vints!
