Whatever one thinks of KD, I suspect the journalist/writer hasn't helped. Who knows whether there was a real interview, or what was actually said?
I thoroughly dislike a lot of writing in papers like the Times and the Sunday papers.

I have now listened for about 14 minutes because I felt you wanted me to cloughers ...... can’t say I was impressed. Checked the playlist while I listened to some video games music ..... 44 pieces in 5 hours including Ed Sheeran, Radiohead, Penny Lane and generally lollipops ... lot of adverts, including, you will be delighted to hear, for Cornish cheese .... but best of all if I had stayed and tweeted in as soon as I heard Andrea Bocelli I could have won a prize ....... watch out for Skellers grabbing this one ......

Today Sean Rafferty repeatedly told us we were going to hear the Pas de deux from the Nutcracker Suite.

        Sorry, Sean, but...

Did you contact prog to tell him? Or do you think he makes his profile / thing of being the ' guileless amateur in a dizzying world of pros' etc etc? [Yawn]

That occured to me, too - but that isn't "the Nutcracker Suite".

                Exactly!

I also remember a good recording of it by RPO Boult on a Studio Two sampler LP, which also had Hoedown RPO Irving.

I continue to be gobsmacked by KD’s giggly schoolgirl/soap powder selling approach to everything she does. I try very hard to understand what she’s trying to do.

I think I’ve got it. She’s flirting. But is doing so in such an embarrassing way that it’s doomed to failure.

Of course, I could be quite wrong...

That would explain the In Tune pose:

I was going to post the image but it comes up so big I couldn't bear it. Em-barrassing
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

I thought Sarah Walker made a nice job of presenting the programme today, making it much more listenable for me than the usual presenters. Her introductions to the music were simple, informative and not gabbled, and her chats with the musicians in the studio seemed relaxed and avoided the sycophantic gibberish often heard from SR and KD. A refreshing change!

I remember a few years ago happening upon a lovely programme where Sarah Walker retraced the steps of Erik Satie on his walks across Paris to his work in cabaret bars. I don't know if she wrote or researched it herself but it was so good, I've never forgotten it. I enjoy a bit of serendipity!

Gosh, I can't believe it was that long ago. A pity it's not available, I'd love to hear it again and for other people to hear it.

I'm now at an age when pretty well everything seems to be a long time ago!
Perhaps somebody out there happens to have recorded, or happens to know somebody who recorded, Sarah's Satie programme and will be kind enough to upload it.
