Hoping to hear JT in Feldman's For Philip Guston in Huddersfield on the 21st. I didn't think it right for me to promote an old friend re. this thread though. Only too happy to concur with you nomination however.

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

The dungeon cell scene from Monty Python's life of Brian. Very good sketch. A must watch for Monty Python Fans.

A few pianists that aren't on that list that I think are worth hearing:

                              Edwin Fischer
                              Tatiana Nikolaeva
                              Mieczyslaw Horszowski
                              Andor Foldes
                              John Lill
                              Stephen Osborne

If Britten is included as an accompanist, then perhaps other fine accompanists or chamber music pianists like Lamar Crowson, Gerald Moore or Eugene Istomin could be considered.

                                Georges Cziffra?

It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.
