    Saturday Classics - Daniel Hope

I wonder if anyone managed to catch Daniel Hope on Saturday Classics this past weekend? http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01g4slf

The repertoire chosen was a bit lacklustre, although there were gems (BCs obviously) including Oistrakh in Shos1, under the baton of the composer's son; truly awesome playing! I could have done with more fiddle playing myself rather than the cross genre selections which were played. Apart from Oistrakh, only Zukerman, Menuhin and Hope himself were featured.

A word of warning: Sting's rendition of Hurdy Gurdy Man was played. Effective use of the melodeon in the arrangement, but you may be alarmed at the way Sting manages to make both "hurdy and "gurdy" tri-syllabic.
