I find Nicola Christie's voice annoying as well - not a shade on Susan Sharpe's mellifluous tones.
Blue Peter is a very good description. Please move her over to Breakfast - I've stopped listening to it!

Sadly she's still doing TTN... Caught a burst just now. Nicola Christie's voice is singularly ill-adapted to late-night listening, as far as I'm concerned...

Really do enjoy TTN often record chunks of it to listen back to when I am aeake.
The performances are normally excellent.
The minimal announcements reminds me of R3 when it was more focused on the music.
I too find the Breakfast show annoying, didn't it use to be very like TTN is now. Essential Classics really annoys me, the quiz is soo tedious

I hope Suffolkcoastal noticed the appearance of Chadwick's 2nd symphony in this morning's TtN - given a brief favourable review in SC's Symphonic Journey (post #32) though SC has it under the year 1885 and TtN 1886. I will try to give it a listen later.

Sorry only just noticed the posting. This performance of the Chadwick usually crops up a couple of timed a year on TTN, I believe its been 'doing the rounds' on TTN for many years. Yes it is like a lot of Chadwick very attractive and distinctive, even Copland commented when he first came to look at Chadwick's music, that he found it much better than he'd imagined it would be. I have the date of 1885 in all three of my sources so I think that R3 is wrong on this one.

No I'm afraid BoD, he was one of the more noticeable symphonic absentees, along with Arnell, Leighton, Hodinott & Potter.
