Thanks Ferney... but my was more because I didn't realise how well it's known... Forumistas with multiple versions, JEG at the Proms.... Clearly some catching up for me to do here, and not at 1 a.m!

I was introduced to Symphonie Fantastique quite early in my 'classical education' and still love it - and what a ground-breaking work that was!

I never cease to be amazed by how different we all are. I've heard the Symphonie Fantastique so many times live, and written reviews, that I'm thoroughly tired of hearing it. No more Friday night TTN?

Very disappointed at 0500 today to discover that TTN was not on.... Further investigation reveals that Friday night is now Jazz Through the Night.

The "all-nighter" was a "special" coinciding with the opening of this year's London Jazz Festival, kernel. Next week it's back to the more familiar format :

There was one - it was CALLED Jazz fm, which it wasn't for long, so they acknowledged that with a name change to Smooth fm - which some said it wasn't, so it went back to being Jazz fm - which it isn't.

Just right for my mood - Silent Music.

TTN, at least the first part, may be taking a cue from the previous programme, Unclassified. But it appears to do it much better. Not a fan of Unclassified. A lot of hot air theorising and categorising of the music, but the end result? Well rather flat, imv.
