Maybe this automagic playlist is also useful for some:

She formed a recorder quartet, i Flautisti, which has performed in a number of venues. She is now primarily a newsreader and presenter on Radios 3 and 4.
Having listened to Danielle Jalowiecka presenting TTN earlier this week, I have to side with the antis. Her staccato manner of speaking is not ideal for listening in the early hours.
I find it annoying that her presentation of musical items is absolutely minimal. There was a Rautovaara item which she admitted she was unable to pronounce, and so she didn't try. Anyway the performance of the piece is apparently different every time, so I was left completely in the dark!

Can't see her improving in the foreseeable future.

Oh, I think it's quite likely that experience will improve her delivery. At present she sounds too much as if she's reading from a script she hasn't seen before on a subject she knows little about, much as I would sound if asked to read out a paper on Nuclear Physics. Two more years and she might well acquire that relaxed spontanaeity we have from Jonathan and the others.

I have always looked forward to Catriona Young's two week stint on TTN as she has probably the only voice on R3 that doesn't irritate me in some way or other and now it seems they are replacing her with another "just out of sixth form" voice.

I have been listening to mostly the second half of TTN for about 15 years now and find it has become very repetetive, and as I find listening during the day more and more irritating I have discovered 2 worthy internet stations, the highly listenable - 'YLE Klassinen' from Finland with reasonably understandable introductions and Australia's 'ABC Classic 2' with No introductions, AND just as important, no pointless news bulletins!!!

Could you name one of the others please, James?

Well, James' context would need only one other; I can guess who he means, but, no names, no pack-drill, perhaps.

Yes, I'm very fond of Catriona Young as well - my idea of a perfect R3 presenter. I also enjoy JS & JS, but still miss Susan Sharpe

Anyone remember Nicola Christie, Nicola Hall or Karishmeh Felfeli?

Apart from Donald M, have there been other TTN presenters?

Violinist Alexandru Tomescu joins conductor Cristian Măcelaru and Romanian Radio National Orchestra in Prokofiev's Second Violin Concerto, and the orchestra plays Mahler's Fifth Symphony.

What a strange sentence to publish about tonight's programme. It's like an alien trying to describe an orchestral concert.

Visions of violinist playing and conductor conducting the Prokofiev, while the orchestra surges through the Mahler.
