One of the great things about TTN is that we are more likely to get whole works than we are in the day. Radio 3 (bless you) seem desperate to compete with Classic FM and for much of the day we only get odd movements.

Yes... I've been listening to my recording of the programme from last Fri/Sat night, a particularly good sequence billed as

Danish National Symphony Orchestra Episode 1 of 2


But also - in the desperate, tenuous way we've become used to this week - as

"Sound of Cinema." "In the 75th Anniversary year of Eisenstein's film "Alexander Nevsky" - Prokofiev's cantata"

But that cantata was just one work in the concert which began the programme, the first work in which was a really EXCELLENT performance of:

I switched on just before 1 am last night in expectation of one of my favourite Seiber chamber pieces, to hear a string of dull German arias, followed by Schubert 9, none of which were listed. Does this often happen with TTN?

Yes, I wondered about this. The "dull German arias" were orchestrations by Reger of famous Schubert songs. How bizarre that somebody should want to do that!
