I think he’s pretty unflappable isn’t he ? Done a lot of live work himself and seen it all before. Fuming gets you nowhere.

I think I read a few years ago that weekends on 3 were now (after Breakfast?) completely automated. No one at home to notice the error.

The explanation will no doubt take all Monday morning to determine and to find others to blame . I have every sympathy as I’ve been party / witness to many a Baldrickian moment in the noble history of broadcasting. All I can say is it’s amazing it doesn’t happen more often.

Exactly… No explanation though

The explanation will no doubt take all Monday morning to determine and to find others to blame . I have every sympathy as I’ve been party / witness to many a Baldrickian moment in the noble history of broadcasting. All I can say is it’s amazing it doesn’t happen more often.

Yes it was her immaculate lead in to Ben followed by Michael’s no less immaculate intro to Steve which alerted even sleepy me that something was up.

When it all does wrong for Blackadder.

My guess is that it was spotted but too late to do anything about it, and there will be an apology of sorts before the 1 o’clock news.

I tuned in part-way and assumed maybe the Watt programme had been pulled for some current affairs reason (e.g. he’d said something politically-‘sensitive’ and BBC high-ups had suffered a collective loss of spine) - but indeed, I just checked on Sounds, and Sarah Walker did her lead-in to the scheduled edition, not the Rosenberg.

Remember Baldrick, we are not at home to Mr. Cock-Up The duty Baldrick is going to have an uncomfortable Sunday/Monday…

They are putting out the wrong edition of Private Passions .This seems to be the recent programme with Steve Rosenberg rather than the promised Ben Watt. Quite an unusual mistake. I wonder how long it’ll be before anyone notices .

I can only begin to imagine…. At least Rosenberg was an interesting guest.

Yes I’m enjoying listening to it again. I’m reminded that when a series I edited had an episode lost through something or other the boss was cock - a - hoop over saving a few bob. Needless to say the powers that be took the money away.

Well you can fade out the wrong Prog say 5 mins in and put out the right one just by doing a couple of quick timings. But to do that you’ve got to find the right file. Problem about sticking with the wrong one is that it has a knock on effect for the rest of the series in terms of publicity and billings. You can end up with a spare show when the run ends . But I won’t bore you with the technicalities- it’s the sort of tedious thing I used to get paid money to sort and thankfully I don’t have to any more .

Presumably Ben Watt has noticed by now….

I would have thought most of the production team would have noticed by now and phoned in. Which means they either can’t find the right tape or more likely digital file at BH or it’s been mislabelled . You wouldn’t believe the checks they have to stop this happening. I’ve done plenty of live shows where the wrong insert tape went out but wrong editions of pre -recorded hour long progs is a different matter.
