    THROUGH THE NIGHT. Recycled ??

Unusually today a time check on TtN. John Shea announced that it was 6.45 when it was actually 6.15am.
Wearing my Miss Marple hat, I would say it proves that it was a recycled 2 hour slot from the days when the programme finished at 7am and not 6.30. Very confusing.

Knowing the recent vagaries of your laptop's clock, are you sure first of all, salymap? If so, then this needs to be fed back to R3, I'd suggest

Yesterday morning early on, R4 was in a dreadful kerfuffle, people reading the wrong scripts TWICE, inc Annie on the News bulletin (she read the second page first, noticed, apologised and said "That is unforgiveable"). How can this happen?

It was the kitchen radio, so unless the whole house has caught the 'bug' my computer has,YES, I am sure.
I have recognised groups of works appearing together in TtN before.

Just checking, salymap I was hoping you'd mention the one in your bathroom of unusual shape

I wonder of french frank could advise you on how to pursue this further - it's not the repeats I care about, it's the incorrect time checks

It's the sort of thing you'd expect on student radio

In the old days of the BBC messageboards Bill Nicholls (and sometimes John Shea) used to field any TTN queries but you can still contact the programme directly at throughthenight at bbc.co.uk (replace the 'at'). Saly - you've probably hit the nail on the head. They now also have a headache with timing because TTN begins half an hour later at the weekend.

Bill Nicholls did confirm to an enquirer a little while ago that, whereas in the early days each programme was a hand-crafted one-off, they now regularly recycle, apparently in two-hour sections. I was even provided with a bar chart showing when it started and how much it had gradually been increased
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

According to the Radio Times, last Saturday's opera relay from The Met began at 5.30 p.m. or 6.00 p.m, depending on which column of the relevant page you were reading.

Well it certainly began at 6pm at my latitude, 'cos that's when JRR finished - and JRR is immovable (not) as we know!

I do hope they recycle the one where we had all the announcements and no music. It finished at 01:30 and then there was a considerable amount of silence.
