It suffers from the usual problem of having no advance playlist - which means it may be fine if you just want to listen to unspecified 'music'. The playlist seems to be incomplete. Does the Mephisto Waltz really take over an hour???It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

I don't know what the system is now - the weekend Breakfast playlists were usually delayed until the following week, so I took it some IT person was supposed to update it when they came into work after the weekend; but now the lists appear earlier.. Perhaps presenters are supposed to press the appropriate button after they've played a piece so that the playlist rolls up as the programme progresses. I can imagine they hold back the BaL winner until after RR has been broadcast - but that suggests the rest of the playlist is ready before that.It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Even with live programmes like Saturday Classics and Sunday Morning (or are they pre-recorded?), the presenters clearly have the list of works to be played prior to the broadcast. So why can’t all programmes have the list like that one comes under ‘Show more’ on Through the Night and Record Review?

A couple of asides - The Squire has just told the story of the rediscovery of a group of Haydn String Quartets in the 1980s and then played a different one than he announced .... and
He has just informed the other listener and I that this morning's programme was put together on Thursday .... when the sun was shining ....
