On this morning's EC I heard Caccini's "Amarilli mia bella" sung by both Gigli and Montserrat Figueras.
The Gigli was from a Nimbus CD.
I believe there is another recording of Gigli, maybe released only on LP. It was used in a TV Storyville episode some years ago about a lady called Vera Drake, a product of the Raj who found returning to England very difficult.
Does anyone know about this recording, which is much more poignant than the Nimbus? I recorded a snatch of the tv programme on a video tape - not much use now.
(It wasn't Vera Drake - that was a different story)
