Why do they do that? If they haven't a clue how a name is pronounced, why do they offer a 'how it looks' pronunciation? (Same with the Pontcysyllte aqueduct: Poncey-silt ) A study all of its own.

Whoever planned yesterday's Essential Classics is stirring up our memories of that 1980s wonder, The Adventure Game. Moira Stewart, Lesley Judd ... aspidistras. The show had it all!

Why else would they play, in succession, the Caurlli and the Grieg Norwegian dance - orchestrated for brass? They were the theme tunes for series one and two! You remember now, right?

All of which evidently went right under the radar of the most lofty Ian 'never owned a television' Skelly.

Now my memory may be playing the tricks but I think it was the Symphonic Dance Op64/2 - and a beautiful piece of music. I hadn’t read #4079 which confirms it!
