What you can see is that if you Google the programmes, they're posted on various non-BBC sites (Facebook) &c. The points to investigate are whether this brings listeners to Radio 3 to listen to Mary Anne Hobbs (presumably yes); and whether they are encouraged in fact (not 'potentially') to listen to more classical music, perhaps of a kind that is beyond MAH's selection/experience.
As to the second, I don't know. I pose the question. It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

EC came good again today - or rather I timed my run serendipitously well. After the pleasures of Richter's 'Waldszenen' last week on a relatively spring-like morning, today the first snow of the winter, lying all around through the parks in London... and as I turned into the first one on the bike, Shostakovich 11 started: that brooding first movement the perfect soundtrack!"...the isle is full of noises,

His banter is ok, but only SO good.....I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.
