Definitely, and it's a well known medical fact that passive smirking - i.e. listening to somebody else's - can seriously damage your health.

Well if smiling can alter the timbre of what is heard (telephone skills) I see no reason why smirking doesn't...

            Passive-aggressive smirking is equally objectionable!
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
            Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Listening to the Master on BBC Sounds I heard what, IMVVHO, was a fine rendition of Finzi’s To Lizbie Browne recommended by Roderick Williams .... To my eternal shame I had never heard of Stephen Varcoe .....
so not unreasonably, as I thought, I decided to do some investigation ... on the playlist on BBC Sounds there is no detail as to the performers - WHY .... there are links to Apple Music and Spotify WHY .... does the Beeb get commission ... ??? follow the link to Apple Music and the track you get is not the one played ..... !!!!
On the Essential Classics website the playlist has all the necessary information WHY in the name of all that’s Cornish do we have ... 2 different playlists ..... ????

Why blame the Cornish? They’re not renowned for providing two when one will do!

Trust old Hardy to bring youthful love and attraction brilliantly back to life. I bet every oldish man has a Lisbie to recall. Eh anton.
