Arran Copland is surely what the locals call the police station in Brodick.

Teenagers called Aaron seem to pronounce it Arr'n. at least down here in the SW.
I keep hitting the Escape key, but I'm still here!

Yes - rhyming with "Darren", and usually without the first (or, of course, second) A. That's been the case for many years now (kids would get quite cross if I pronounced it as in the "Moses' brother" fashion.)

Think Saga fellow passengers will be far too young for forum members - it'll be a sort of grab a granny Love Island ...

This is quite true. I also know of an Arran (named after the Scottish island) which is a more logical spelling.

Not to be confused, of course, with the group of islands that guard Galway Bay.

It's fine when it has the double r, I just don't understand parents naming their kids Aaron if they're going to pronounce it Aran/Arran! But then there are so many alternative spellings these days, people don't think of having to spell everything over the phone. I have 2 common forenames which both have always had alternative spellings, plus my uncommon married surname of only 3 letters! I hate giving my name over the phone.

I listened to a significant part of R3’s morning output yesterday, as on a long drive. I’ve not done that for months. Total trash, bits and pieces, but interspersed with trails and other trivia. In the past some people complained about Rob Cowan’s Programme - this was far worse. I will probably try not to repeat the experience.

Succinctly put as I couldn't agree more with you. Not helped by the choice of presenter IMO.
