Not sure that I'd describe Goya (1746-1828) as an 18th century painter - he straddles the century, and much (most?) of his greatest work was created in the 19th century.... A bit flip.

                      he straddles the millennium,
What's a nought between friends? Not as far adrift as the passenger at Heathrow who initially translated "mille euros" as "million euros" on the TV last night, English not being his first language.

The Squire announced this morning that you can now get a weekly podcast of these snippets cloughers - surely your life is now complete ..... ???

Don't get me going on that one. The Americans retranslated a milliard (1,000,000,000) into a "billion", whereas a real billion has an extra three naughts, which the Americans called a trillion, (which is actually 1,000,000,000,000,000,000).
We just followed, sheepishly, as usual. The deflation gets more extreme as each new name (quadrillion, quintillion... etc.) occurs.

Depends what jobs you want done in the kitchen, I suppose.
