Pity that most of the first movement of K595 was missed because of the Kennedy Prom overrun last night. It seems to be sod's law that when people are particularly looking forward to an item it gets messed up. But R3's priorities are what they are, and it's more to be lamented than complained of. Perhaps they'll fit a repeat in in the coming weeks. Jonathan???
The better news is that next Fri/Sat - 12/13 August, there's more Haskil:
1:01 AM
Mozart, Wolfgang Amadeus [1756-1791]
Concerto for piano and orchestra no. 9 (K.271) in E flat major
Clara Haskil (piano) ORTF Orchestra, Igor Markevitch
***
and
1:45 AM
Mozart, Wolfgang Amadeus [1756-1791]
Concerto for piano and orchestra no. 19 (K.459) in F major
Clara Haskil (piano) Orchestre de la Société des Concerts du Conservatoire, Jerzy Katlewicz
Let's hope the Spaghetti Western Orchestra doesn't get called back to do endless Morricone encores...
