Yes, a very credible RNZ Concert. It's a casual, breezy sort of place (like Palmerston North) but on the weekends and when I work from home I like TTN which is Through the Day for me, but has been trashed by these musical uppers on a Saturday afternoon (PMR Time).

RNZ Concert also plays a selection of the Proms on their evening concert slot. They play a live concert most evenings and I am attending a DSCH 5 symphony rendition in ten days. They also have their version of TTN, just non-stop music with no speaking at all. I listen to that on my Monday morning drive to the airport to fly to work - a 4:15 get up for a 6:30 flight.
    Now back to the studio.

I see that these misconceived wastes of time don’t figure in the schedule tonight or next Fri/Sat (perhaps in recent weeks too, I no longer look systematically)…

Dare one hope that (like the worse than useless ‘news’ intrusion in Early Music Show, fingers crossed) they have quietly been put out of our misery?

Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Ideally, I would hope it means they've discovered after all that no-one wants this stuff. But I suspect they were made as podcasts and for some legal reason have to be broadcast first.

Fingers crossed that they have finally gone.
I think smittims could be right about the vacuous legal reason - didn't Alan Davey said something about it?

I remember that being given as the reason, which didn't deflect the complaints because then the question was "why does it have to be R3 that loses airtime, in view of the fact it isn't R3 content?"

Even worse if part of R3's diminishing budget was spent on the programmes/podcasts. Just as every other programme which in times past wouldn't have been considered R3 content now a) takes up R3 airtime and b) costs R3 money - the latest to join that group being Jools Holland and FNIMN; not forgetting half to three quarters of Unclassified and Night Tracks.

There do seem to be fewer of these programmes than there used to be, but the so-called 'classical' programmes become more and more of a mixed bag. It's all simpler and less intellectually demanding in order to appeal to a broader audience

              SALIDIOTATABA?
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Found out that an activity I am(thankfully only peripherally) involved with for Wellbeing week in this neck of the woods is in partnership with two Arts Council England supported initiatives - neither of which is in any way local. So we can't have the well attended touring opera and ballet here anymore as the companies have had their funding removed ( let alone support for other established arts events) but we can have all sorts of craft and health activities...
