My absolute favourite is John Shea, who sounds like he is talking to me, whereas Danielle sounds like she is reading to me. Just the right tone for the programme.

Danielle goes back to school

By Charley Morgan
TALENTED recorder player Danielle Jalowiecka paid a visit to her old school in the run up to a concert at the Wiltshire Music Centre in September.
Miss Jalowiecka, 21, went to St Augustine's Catholic College in Trowbridge and has just graduated with a first class degree in recorder performance from the Royal College of Music in London.
She recently spent a semester studying at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music where she had a number of works written for her and played for Australian composer, Ian Shanahan.
While there, she was awarded the runner up prize in the 2008 Performing Australian Music Competition. She has now been offered a scholarship to study on a recorder course in August led by renowned recorder players Dan Laurin and Susanna Borsch.
Her quartet, i Flautisti, has won a tour of Brighton later this year as part of the Brighton Early Music Festival and Live Music Now!

... now that is really interesting - thank you! - is it like those high-speed keyboards (stenotype?) you see staff using in court-rooms, parliamentary committees &c? I've never understood, if they're so much speedier, why they are not more widespread in use...Last edited by vinteuil; 08-10-23, 15:25.
