    Thanks for the heads up on this programme, Nick. I have thought (based on a small sample) that Jools Holland seemed awkward as a tv presenter, so it is a revelation to discover what a talker he is! I enjoyed the programme and many revelations - not least that amazing stride piano version of the Tannhaeuser pilgrms' chorus!

      That was fun wasn't it - and I now know what stride piano is. Reading an explanation is all very well but hearing an explanation and then an example works much better particularly in this case when the right hand is something familiar so it's easier to sort out what the left hand is doing!
