    RC once more

I know I am treading in dangerous and taboo waters here but it appears Rob Cowan's voice is often at the lowest end of the volume spectrum.
At times, he is so quiet and nonchalant that he must be on auto-pilot. While we are at it, let's also not forget Petroc Trelawney, who still lets his
voice trail off into inaudibility at the end of introductions.
Music-wise, we are now getting many of the Hall of Fame extracts from Classic FM..........the process of ClassicFM...ing Radio 3 is almost complete.

Yes, but did you hear how he pronounced rrega? Almost shouted the first syllable.

    Well done, Richard Tarleton
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

      Aha! Missed that!

Perhaps he can have a word with Sarah Walker

Just to distinguish him from Max Reger, one might suppose...

I don't think FranSisco Tárrega could be mistaken for Max Reger, ahinton. And I'm sure Richard wouldn't insist on θ for s.

Max Reger certainly couldn't be confused with the 'Cisco Kid either!

The best speakers (actors) accentuate their words endings. Just listen to Richard Burton and Judy Dench!

The same could be said of Jenny Murray. Have no complaints about Petroc.

Jenny Murray has almost no consonants at all. 'Goo -hmoring'?

                    Not on R3 anyway
Tárrega himself was from Castellón, sandwiched between Catalonia/Catalunya [maintaining strict impartiality here ] and Valencia - I daresay he'd have been Fran-thisco at home, whether he also knew Valencian (or Catalan for that matter) I have no idea - nice little biog. article here

I should have thought the chances of Reger being played on Essential Classics was rather slim .

I happened to hear that! (during the 4 minutes of morning R3 I happened to catch this week ....)
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                        Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

He's been pronouncing it correctly since 27 August - now he realises how much better it sounds, he's really been going for it

Sadly his colleague Sarah Walker has yet to get the message.
