Stupid man. He knows nothing. He shouldn't be allowed out.

[We've already discussed this on the RAJAR thread.]
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

        I just have

That's funny - I thought it appeared straight away but it's disappeared now. I pointed out that last year R3 had its highest Q2 ever and this year it was its 3rd highest. Whereas Classic FM used to pull in 6.5m and is way down on that.

        Lies, damn lies and statistics.

Norm has an axe to wield - duck Alan!

Well, I thought you might have added your two penno'th, Lord Gould . Our American cousins seem to be objecting, in one way or another, to Mr Lebrecht.

The worst and most fact-challenged gossip in classical music does have an axe to wield/grind, which he did when he ridiculed on his blog the appointment of Alan Davey as R3 Controller. (Much in the same way that he ridicules music director / chief conductor appointments like Jaap van Zweden to the NY Phil.) Presumably AD knows better than to engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed man.
