Those last remarks should perhaps be left hanging.

I think they should be dropped.

Her dismissal was procedurally unfair I have no doubt having read the CA judgment because she was not given a chance to comment on the OFSTED report - but the report was damning .

                Which OFSTED report, though?

A cover-up led to Ofsted escaping blame for its part in the Baby P scandal, according to a BBC documentary.

I'm sure there are plenty of excellent teachers who wouldn't trust an Ofsted report in any way.

Different part of OFSTED - the old Social Services Inspectorate .

that was what was in my mind.

Anybody know id Ed was involved in the changes in how DBS checks are applied, particularly re teachers?

( He is also Chairman of Norwich City FC, incidentally.).

Strictly really lifted Ed, following losing his parliamentary seat and Norwich being relegated.

Well, they do have lifts as one factor in this bizarre prance practice, so perhaps it did but, if so, so what?...

On what basis do you make that assertion ? I agree that Shoesmith was scapegoated and unfairly dismissed but she ran Haringey social services and it was a disaster area . It was by no means all her fault but the buck stops with the Director of Social Services . She ran a highly dysfunctional department .
