I've no idea what Rob and Sarah might have been writing on Facebook or tweeting. As I've written before, the posts on the blog looked suspiciously like ones they'd prepared earlier!

I was rather hoping that his rather inappropriate and tasteless analogy would be overlooked. Too difficult for some, it seems.
I 'umbly submit, Monsieur le Rosbeef, that your second sentence was otiose.

Whilst the correct spelling is "Rosbif", might I respectfully counsel you to consider the appropriateness of addressing the member concerned thus given my understanding that he does not especially appreciate this (even if no offence is intended, as I'm as sure is the case with you as it was with me when I did it)?

Nor have I, which is perhaps unsurprising since I never look at such things...

Not only tasteless but all the more inappropriate because in true Lebrechtian fashion he had mistaken the membership of this forum for the altogether more friendly Friends of Radio 3 I wrote and politely pointed out the the vast bulk of the forum members have no other association with the Friends than that they tread loudly on our boards. Mr L acknowledged that he had indeed been unaware that there were two distinct groups.

However, we share something in common with the current controller in have been savaged by Mr Lebrecht
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

You go there from the main web page via ‘River of music Live blog’.
Scroll down to the start of the programme.Hope this'll solve the mystery.

That's where I looked but didn't see what I was wanting, which is simply the reason why each given piece was chosen - what political, topical etc connection. Perhaps that information is contained in the verbiage somewhere, but it would be an awful lot of waffle to plough through to find it in that case, and I'm not sure I can face doing it for all 70 items!

Having just skimmed through the intervening posts I've come to the conclusion that the information I was hoping to find about the connections does not in fact exist.Or possibly it does(after all this was carefully crafted/curated) but for whatever reason it is not deemed necessary to share it with us - in which case I wonder why not?

Live Blog does not seem to contain the information we were promised. Is there Dead Blog somewhere?

Dam it. We're meandering off the point.

Oh, please don't say that, otherwise FF might "lock" the thread! - and we'd not want to see all our ideas river-sed, would we?!?...

Live Blog contains 30 pieces of writing* about the music played throughout the 12 hours, which I guess takes up about half the space of this webpage. The rest of the page is filled with large photos of composers, WOWs, Hi-s, and photos of a baby and gardens etc. Are we to think the other 40 pieces of music were just random fillers?
*roughly counted, and one piece of writing to one piece of music.

The programme certainly presented a different way of listening to/enjoying music, and maybe an idea for a new format for regular programs but I don’t think those who ‘curated’ the programme should be congratulating themselves. They did not deliver what they promised. Unless this was how they ‘curated’ because they believed this would be good enough for the listeners.

Or is there a place where I can find the missing information?
