16:35 Our producers worked hard to make sure that all the pieces in River of Music flow in an easy, continuous stream. They've done all sorts of clever things to make sure that key signatures, textures and themes just *work* - have you noticed?

OK. CONSPIRACY THEORY.
Radio 3 is receiving a lot of flak for it's over verbose presentation, reminiscent of the till cashiers at Tesco being over-chummy with one another, whilst ignoring the customers.
How can Radio 3 listeners be made to like the way the presenters present?
By taking away the very thing they moan about, but not putting anything helpful and convenient in its place.
The musical menu will remain identical to that of a Radio 3 Breakfast/Essential Classics/In Tune/Saturday Classics programme, but without the chat, texts, tweets and infantile quizzes. Remember, it must not, under any circumstances, resemble Through the Night, which relies on having listeners with an attention span of more than a few minutes at a time.
There will be no information whatever, unless the listeners want to faff around on their internet devices.
So the whole gimmick has people saying they prefer the "normal" presentation. The BBC can then say "We told you so."

I'm hoping the planners had the foresight to include Chas and Dave's 'Ain't No Pleasin' You'.

From the blog:
15:36 David Munrow, who directed this performance, had a sideline as the host of Radio 3's Pied Piper series – one of the only music programmes aimed squarely at younger listeners
2) "one of the only musical programmes." Does that make sense?
I hope people here are also commenting on the R3 social media sitesPacta sunt servanda !!!

Turned it back on a short while ago and following a glorious Altenberg lieder, turned it off. Now listening to Tangerine Dream's 1975 album Ricochet.

If you can't see it for some reason, it's probably something to do with your security measures! It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

If people were then really inspired then they will have to use their ears and curiosity to find out what music was being played.
It would also be a bit of a change from the urge to categorise, list and possess.

the link doesn't work for me - where is it actually based - I presume as per FF my security settings prevent access - I have to allow specific references from a page so looks as tho the BBC is playing traceing games and actually hosting the playlist away from its usual page
I do get to see some of comments - wallpaper is all that they want - R3 is dead
however it now indicates the the old BBC statement that they had to have station id every hour is not true - also I presume marketing has the day off
