I've noticed that Monday evening is the dumping ground for many previously non-R3-material 'shows' but surely this weeks Olivier Awards truly belonged on R2?
Is Monday night now R2 night?

"This incredible one-off event took place on 25 January 2016 at the Royal Festival Hall to celebrate the 40th year of the prestigious annual Olivier Awards with MasterCard.
The stunning evening of stellar entertainment featured illustrious line-up of theatre stars who performed songs from Olivier-winning musicals accompanied by the renowned BBC Concert Orchestra.
If you missed the concert, you can listen back on BBC iPlayer"
Went on for two and a half hours while Radio 2 had:
7pm Burns Night from Celtic Connections
8pm Jo Whiley hosting a mix of new music and classic album tracks
My own suspicion (I am suspicious by nature) is that this is all down to the Director of Music (formerly Head of Popular Music), busy coordinating 'music' across radio and television. Where can we place this LIVE CONCERT? Why, Radio 3, of course.
I pride myself on a total lack of prejudice but one look at that play listIt isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Over egging the pudding has never been a good idea - and the R3 contingent are lobbing in the free-range like there's no tomorrow,O Wort, du Wort, das mir Fehlt!
