The Lovesong of J. Alfred Prucock

That is how Sean Rafferty read out the title of T.S.Eliot's poem on 'In Tune' this afternoon.

    "Prucock".

Surely no excuse for that, is there? This isn't about the niceties of how to pronounce some little-known Lithuanian composer's name, or the like. It's about actually having some grasp of the basics in return for being paid to 'present' the Arts on a supposedly flagship radio station.

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
    Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Sounds like problems with his diction.

shall we develop this line of punning, (please)or just concentrate on the lack of preparation , and unrelenting obsequiousness ?

sorry, thought I would start subtle.

Whereas you were probably, and quite reasonably, just trying to prick his conscience.
