Certainly there is something unwelcome and even menacing in the persistent bullying and coercion to keep on celebrating Christmas till you drop. Radio 3 has really overdone it this year.

He did a TV series some years ago where his hair was done in a way that made it look as if he had a hedgehog sitting on his head. I found the series interesting despite the TS element, but the hedgehog did sometimes get in the way of concentrating on the content...

I think the deliberate scruffy look is all part of his desire to be noticed, though it’s strange, as radio doesn’t have much in the way of visual images.

Was it "The Joy of Mozart" from 2015?

Are you implying that somebody might be a prickly customer?

I've always found him light & fluffy, a bit like a soufflé. The off button is never far away.

Having thought a bit more it may have been a hat he was wearing that gave the hedgehog look - a furry cossack style item. I can't remember what the programme(s) was/were about but seemed to involve a certain amount of tramping around scrubby hillsides in cold weather.
I've just noticed that he isn't Mr Ibragimova anymore, not for some time in fact.

I'm 99% certain that photo was taken in Salzburg, as I remember standing at the same spot and enjoying that view of the city from the Festung.

                    It was.

                    But almost down-under...
The caption (for the first photo) reads "Tom Service in Salzburg, Austrlia. Tom Service goes to Salzburg, home of Mozart, to distinguish the fact from the fiction."
