Radio 3 Unwind starts on the 4th of November

Among the new programmes, 'The Sleeping Forecast' will offer you the chance to hear the shipping forecast as you chill out. (Seriously\).

Well I suppose that Sam has wound us all up enough that we need to unwind, but the prospect of more soothing music to relax to (if that's what's in the pipeline) doesn't exactly appeal.

        Replacing TTN? Surely not...?
        Edit: perhaps not....

TTN continues if you really don't fancy 'Sleep Tracks' (0030-0600) followed by 'Mindful Mix' (sounds like a considerate cowboy) over your breakfast.

It's a separate stream, on Sounds only, and can be ignored completely.

                  .. and from me.

Relieved that TTN is still with us.

They could move Night Tracks on to that stream and clear the way for late night chamber music. Who would object to that?
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Radio 3 Unwind programmes are listed separately on the BBC's radio station Schedules.

Radio 4 used to have "Music at Night" (up to 1986, I think; and before R4 on the Home Service).

Can't help thinking that R3 Un-wind reads like an unfortunate flatulence cure-all.

                            Blow, blow, R 3 Unwind,
                            Thou art more unkind
                            Than list'ners merit ;
Thy sense is not so keen,
                            Because thou art not seen,
To gauge how ill we bear it.

Heigh-ho! sing, heigh-ho! unto the green holly:
List'nership is feigning, most 'outreach' mere folly:
                            Then, heigh-ho, the holly!
                            This life is most jolly.

                            Freeze, freeze, thou bitter sky,
That dost not bite so nigh
                            As listeners forgot:
                            Though thou the waters warp,
Thy sting is not so sharp
                            As friends remembered not.

Heigh-ho! sing, heigh-ho! unto the green holly...
