A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

I've managed to avoid this Music Day, but I think that is what two female presenters were speaking about at around 4pm today. I have rarely heard such drivel. Each is presenting a programme from a different location on that day and this led to a nauseating exchange about school trips and packed lunches. It was a perfect description of why so many of us no longer listen regularly to Radio 3.

I posted a spoof from the "Pretentious Classical Music Elitists" Facebook group (come on FF i've invited you to join us ) but it seemed to have vanished
IT WAS A SPOOF
Which, in spite of its name, is often interesting and worth reading

If it is a ‘nationwide celebration of music’, why not ‘celebrate’ on Radio2 which has much larger audience? Radio3 does not need a day to celebrate music. It broadcasts music everyday.

BBC Music Day culminates in a live gala concert from City Halls in Glasgow presented by Katie Derham and Ken Bruce, which is simulcast on Radio 2, Radio 3, Radio Scotland and the Asian Network. The BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra is joined by an exciting cross-genre line-up of artists including tenor Noah Stewart, the violinist Jack Liebeck, pop legends Lulu and Deacon Blue, Bhangra artist Jaz Dhami, Scots folk star Claire Hastings, harpist Catrin Finch and jazz pianist Jamie Cullum. They perform music with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Richard Balcombe, from classical repertoire to film music, jazz to rock and folk music to Jaz Dhami.

Actually please don't give them ideas.
Why a music day anyway? The Bbc has several dedicated music stations on Multiple platforms, all free to air.
What on earth is the point? To help the demographic that hasn t yet discovered that there is music on the BBC?
They somehow seem to get even dafter in the summer....
not just as random and bizarre as the parodies of "W1A"....? Like Britain's Tastiest Village etc etc...
You can just imagine it being devised....
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
