Ah, I see, thanks. I love Sarah but I wouldn't mind him coming on again when she's off. Lovely piece he played by him.

      'The talent'?

Reminds me of, 'the asset' in a Jason Bourne film, which was, 'a hired assassin'.

      What's 'the talent'?

It’s an expression used in the media in two different ways.
Initially employed by off -screen people (esp production) to describe presenters with a possible touch of irony / even perhaps envy ?
Now used throughout the tv and radio industry to describe just about any one who works in it. So there’s a huge database called The Talent Manager where production and technical people upload their CV’s in a bid to get contracts.
There are also within most production companies talent managers who spend their time trawling through things like The Talent Manager for potential hires.
There is allegedly a big “talent shortage “ at the moment . Whether that’s reflected in the output I leave you to judge. Quite a lot of “talent” isn’t very talented possibly. The amount of media product has expanded so vastly in the last ten years it’s very difficult to find the talent to fill it.
For the avoidance of doubt RW is definitely very talented!

But all was well before long - it was rather like an interesting episode of Inside Music, it seemed to me. And a complete concerto (DSCH PC#2)! I thought only sawn-off movements were allowed on these morning playlist shows … a nice surprise.

There often seems to be full works on Sarah’s Sunday programmes!

Very impressed by the Cordelia Williams Schubert Impromptu this morning: her name has somehow passed me by. Interesting website and interests.

Thanks, Cloughie. Thinking of maybe buying the CD (details on her website).

I'm enjoying Sunday Morning with Clive Myrie. There is something that is genuinely personal about his presentation - not always the case with R3 presenters (despite pretentions to that).

I think he has a lovely style - the plus of being a guest presenter is that they have a one-off opportunity to share their personal choices with the world - and there were some interesting ones there eg the Borodin P Quintet!

Sunday Morning - mostly nicely put together but once again spoiled for me with the seemingly obligatory diddly Celtic music!

I wish they would put our more information on NOW PLAYING on the website. They say:

                                César Franck
                                Le Chasseur Maudit

Yes. But who's the conducter? Orchestra? CD details? Translation and summary?
