Do these presenters really consider themselves to be so important?
Or are they simply following the script? If so, it must be one of the easiest jobs on earth: 3 minutes of reading a script, followed by 10 - 70 minutes of doing absolutely nothing, followed by 3 minutes of talking...Comment

surely all "presentation" of programmes has been scripted from the very beginning of the BBC (?). Whether the presenter him/herself writes the script I wouldn't know.
I was surprised once to see a close-up of the autocue for a TV news bulletin - even the "good evening, my name is ......... " was scriptedComment
